The recently installed log grader is now running at full speed. Nydala installed the grader in 2013 as part of a major investment to update the sawmill. The output in an 8hr working day is now up to 4500 logs, which corresponds with the daily capacity of the sawline.
The 4500 logs per day are pre-graded and sorted by length, diameter and quality which improves yield throughout the whole production line. Pre-grading the logs not only increases the productivity of the sawline, but also the kilning, grading and planing.
The continuous investment to optimize quality and productivity ensure Nydala stays highly competitive.
